TV channels broadcasting IPL 2009 live in India, USA, UK, Australia and other countries

Sony and WSG has got the global broadcasting rights of Indian Premier League. So, the IPL 2009 will be broadcasted live definitely on Sony's channel Set Max in India. Other TV channels have got broadcasting rights for different countries. Here is a list of countries and TV channels broadcasting IPL 2009:


  • India: Sony has the broadcasting rights of IPL in India and some South Asian countries like Nepal. Matches will be shown live on Set Max.

  • Middle east including UAE, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan and Libya: Arab Digital distribution via. ART prime

  • USA: Direct TV schedule , W and Echostar

  • UK and Ireland: Setanta Sports has the broadcasting rights of IPL 2009 in UK and Ireland.

  • Australia : Network 10 ten or Channel 10 will broadcast IPL 2009 on TV in Australalia.

  • South Africa: Supersport will broadcast IPL 2009 in television in South Africa. It will also be shown in other African coutries like Nigeria via. this channel. The channel is supersport2.

  • New Zealand: Sky Network Television

  • Pakistan: Geo Sports

  • Canada: ATN (Asian Television Network)
  • Hong Kong : i-cable
  • Malaysia : Astro
  • Bangladesh: BTV
  • Sri Lanka : MTV (according to official website)
  • Singapore : Starhub

      Yes, IPL will air on Starhub cable CH 111, the cricket channel, at the usual exorbhitant rates.

      I checked with Dishnetwork for live coverage in USA and they said they are not offering any IPL live as of today.

      I am not sure if Channle ten is covering IPL in Oz. Their TV listing does not show these matches in the guide. Any ideas if this is confirmed or is it on some other channel?

      Even The IPL Website says MTV is their broadcast partner in Sri Lanka. IPL was a HUGE hit last year on MTV ( They even re-telecast the whole series later). Why de hell wud they wanna show FOX news? Btw does anyone know a way to contact MTV ?? If so please Post

      In the U.S. I tried pretty much all the free sites -- I should have known better, none of them worked. Signed up with an inexpensive paid site listed below ($20 for the whole IPL)

      It's absolutely great today -- smooth, no buffering problems. I am surprised it's so inexpensive compared to willow tv. Highly recommended.

      i think dialog tv is doing a very bad thing..
      they didn't even inform their customers before stopping broadcasting channel eye during the ipl.

      But they will never miss to put a text message on our DTV inbox if we forget to pay the monthly bill.
      Once i asked from the customer care.. then one man said that getting information about the problem is a customers duty... what a hell is this. to get the information about their weaknesses why should customers pay additional cost on their telephones..

      Dialog TV signed a agreement with Channel eye to broadcast it. DTV cannot stop broadcasting it without a order from channel eye..

      Dear dialog tv customers,,,,,
      think about once the fact they are arising is logical or not. because dialog tv has the right to broadcast channel eye in any manner.
      If their is a permission problem it will be handled by channel eye. If DTV stops broadcasting during Ipl due to a request of channel eye its ok/////

      If it is not Dialog is deceiving their customers
      and i hope to ask about this problem from Chairmen of channel eye then we can get aware what is the truth... and finally i hv to say that dialog is going only after profits/// they will never think about their customers...

      I thoroughly emphasis this because they Broadcast IPL on channel eye in first 2 or 3 days.. then they discovered that if they didn't broadcast they can earn additional fee from subscribers who is going to enable a set plans and from who is upgrading thier connections


      Dear Dialog tv customers please think and find about this matters... if not dialog tv executives will think that sri lankan people are very foolish people cos "Un gahana gahana padayata api natanawa kiyala".....

      In Srilanka they omit (purposely)showing IPL because of elections , as they can show both Oppositions and Government FALSE propaganda.
      this is done by both MTV and Rupavahini,

      See definitely after the elections they'll show the Second round of IPL.

      p.s: THESE DAYS CHANNEL EYE SHOWS PAST ONE DAY MATCHES WHICH s.jayasooriya PALYED... shame,,,,
      THEY CAN SHOW AT LEAST RECORDED IPL MATCHES. instead
